Larry Bird added some experience and depth to the Indiana Pacers ' backcourt, signing free agent Kenny Anderson to a National Basketball Association contract.
Anderson, who made nine million dollars last season, joins his seventh NBA club. He figures to split time at point guard with Jamaal Tinsley.
"We are very
happy to have Kenny aboard," said Bird, the Pacers president of basketball
operations. "He will be a great addition. He has always been one of my
favorites and I look forward to working with him."
Anderson, 32, averaged career lows of 6.1 points and 3.2 assists in 61 games,
starting just twice while splitting the season between Seattle and New Orleans.
"This is where I wanted to be and I'm glad ticketmaster that it worked out," Anderson said. "It's a gret fit for me."
Selected second overall by New Jersey in the 1991 draft, Anderson has career averages of 13.4 points, 6.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds ticketmaster in 771 games over 12 seasons with New Jersey, Charlotte, Portland, Boston, Seattle and New Orleans.
